Editor's Note, 3 October 2026: New review, from the field notes of our snowboard crews at Whistler Blackcomb.

Annie spent a day on the CAPiTA Space Metal Fantasy trying new things, because it was almost impossible to catch an edge. It was the most forgiving board we rode. It scores 85 out of 100 and ranks #9 in our best snowboards guide as our best Women's Freestyle Board.

CAPiTA Space Metal Fantasy

Edge hold4.5/10
Crud5.5/10
Powder7/10
Park9.5/10
Forgiveness9.5/10

Bottom Line : The easiest, most forgiving board we rode: catch-free, springy and made for butters and park laps. Keep it off icy mornings.

Pros

  • Clear winner in the park
  • Most forgiving board we rode
  • Light and easy to throw around

Cons

  • Washes out in hard carves on firm snow
  • Bounced around in heavy chop
  • Set the bindings back for powder

On the Mountain

In the park this was an absolute dream for Ali: quick edge to edge, springy, and made for pressing and buttering through small and medium features. She spent the afternoon lapping the park on it.

It was the most forgiving board we rode. Annie spent the day building confidence on the blue cruisers, trying new things because it was so hard to catch an edge.

Incredibly catch-free! I was trying new things all day because I wasn't scared of slamming on an edge.

Annie, intermediate rider

With the bindings set back, it gave surprisingly good float in the trees for a true twin. TheGoodRide and SnowboardingProfiles both found it more stable than its size suggests.

Where It Asks Something of You

Its soft flex and reverse camber washed out when Ali tried to lay over a hard carve on the firm morning groomers. TheGoodRide agrees it is not a board with a lot of grip.

In heavy afternoon chop it got bounced around, though it is light enough that Annie could muscle it back on line quickly.

Spec Sheet vs Our Test

  • Reverse camber, true twin: Catch-free in the park; washes out carving on ice
  • Soft flex, 4 out of 10: Springy for presses and butters; bounced around in chop

Should You Buy the CAPiTA Space Metal Fantasy?

Yes, if the park or progression is your priority. If your mountain is icy or you want to carve hard, the Lib Tech Dynamiss is the better choice. TheGoodRide found it runs on the small side: size down for a looser, jib-friendly feel, or up for stability. Our crew rode the 147 cm.

Park riders and progressing riders who want to learn butters, presses and switch without being punished for mistakes.
