Editor's Note, 10 October 2026: New review, from the field notes Ryan Williams and John Pulham submitted on 31 August 2026.

When a storm knocked the power out, the WEN 3600-Watt Dual Fuel kept our testers' fridge, freezer and a window air conditioner running, and it started easily on gas or propane. It scores 84 out of 100 and ranks #3 in our best camping generators guide as our best value dual fuel generator.

  • Output: 2,900 W gas, 2,600 W propane
  • RV outlet: TT-30R (30 amp)
  • Our noise reading: about 58 dBA
  • Manufacturer: WEN

Bottom Line : The bigger sibling of the WEN it replaces: 650 more running watts on gas, a TT-30R RV plug and a CO shutdown sensor, on gas or propane.

Pros

  • 2900 running watts on gas
  • Runs on gas or propane
  • TT-30R RV outlet
  • Watchdog CO shutdown

Cons

  • No published dBA figure
  • Bigger than the unit it replaces
  • About 58 dBA in our test

In the Field

Ryan and John used the WEN as storm outage backup at home. It ran a fridge, a freezer, a 120V window air conditioner, the router and the lamps.

It read about 58 dBA and ran 8.5 hours on gas. It started easily on the recoil pull on either fuel, which is what you want when the lights have just gone out.

The panel covers RV use too: a TT-30R outlet, two household outlets, a 12V port and USB. It has WEN's Watchdog CO shutdown sensor and a fuel shutoff that runs the carburetor dry for storage.

Where It Asks Something of You

It is a dependable mid-range inverter rather than a standout: it is not as quiet as the Honda EU2200i, and its 2,900 running watts on gas drop to 2,600 on propane.

Spec Sheet vs Our Test

3,600 surge watts and 2,900 rated watts on gas. WEN rates it at 2,900 running watts on gas and 2,600 on propane. That ran a fridge, a freezer and a window AC together in our outage test.

Extremely quiet operation. WEN compares it to a normal conversation without giving a number in its listing. Our testers read about 58 dBA.

Tool-free LPG quick-connector. WEN includes a tool-free propane connector. Our testers found it started easily on propane as well as gas.

Watchdog CO shutdown and fuel shutoff. The CO sensor shuts it off if carbon monoxide builds up, and the fuel shutoff runs the carburetor dry before storage. Both are on the unit; we did not try to trigger the CO shutoff.

Should You Buy the WEN 3600-Watt Dual Fuel RV-Ready Inverter?

Buy it if you want one dual fuel generator for storm backup and RV trips, with an RV outlet you can plug straight into.

Skip it if quiet is the priority: the Honda EU2200i is much quieter. For more power on propane, step up to the Champion 4000 Dual Fuel in the same guide.
