On the Gravel Pitch

It came off the scale at 16.72 lb (7.58 kg) in its bag, and the interior measured 96 x 96 inches, which is 64.0 sq ft. On the campground the bare frame went up in a median of 1:10, a full stake-and-guy took 2:45, and pack-down 1:35.

Layout was good for a tent this light. Two 25 inch pads against opposite walls left a 46.0 inch central walkway, and a queen air mattress left 36 inches at the side and 16 at the foot. The rain chamber ran for 60 minutes at 1.5 in/hr and collected 0.0 oz.

In a 20 mph gust at the campground the walls moved 5.0 inches. That is a modest test, and we would not read much into it for high wind. Two campers who looked it over noted that the lightweight door zipper snagged on the exterior weather flap unless it was pulled slowly, with two hands.

Where It Asks Something of You

The zipper is the thing to watch. A door zipper that fights the weather flap is irritating at 2 a.m. and a likely source of wear, so open and close it slowly and keep the flap clear.

And we want to be straight about the evidence. It has an overall score of 79 but no seven-metric breakdown, and the only wind it saw was a 20 mph gust. We would choose the Alpha C4 Ultra or the Gazelle T4 Hub if gale-force wind is likely.

Spec Sheet vs Our Test

Setup in 60 seconds. The title says 60 seconds. The bare frame took a median of 1:10 across 12 trials, 10 seconds slower than the claim, and staking and guying took a further 2:45. It is the fourth-fastest bare pitch in the guide, behind the Wakeman, the Night Cat and the Alpha C4 Ultra.

Rainfly and weather protection. The listing includes a rainfly. In our 60-minute chamber run at 1.5 in/hr, 0.0 oz got in. Good result, and the equal of the Alpha C4 Ultra and the Gazelle T4 Hub in the chamber.

Windproof. The title calls it windproof. The gust we recorded was 20 mph and the walls moved 5.0 inches. That says the frame is fine in a breeze; it tells you nothing about a storm, so do not rely on the word.

Carry bag. It comes in a carry bag, and at 16.72 lb the bag is easy for one person to lift.

Should You Buy the Fanttik Zeta C4 Pro 4-Person Instant Tent?

Buy the Zeta C4 Pro if you camp on fair weekends, want a four-person tent you can pitch quickly and carry on your own, and do not need to stand tall or shelter from hard wind. It was dry in the rain chamber, pitched in 1:10, and left good room around the bed.

Do not buy it if you want the evidence that comes with the top picks, or if wind is likely: the Alpha C4 Ultra held steady at 25 mph and the Gazelle T4 Hub moved only 1.0 inch in 32 mph. If weight matters most, the Night Cat Pop Up Tent weighs 4.2 lb.

Sean, Emma, James and Annie tested the other five new tents, with 12 timed trials per tent, a 60-minute rain chamber run and a campground phase. Gazelle and Coleman scores and figures come from their own reviews.
