Our Verdict:
Kodiak Canvas Flex-Bow (6-Person) Tent
The Kodiak Canvas Tent Flex-Bow is a roomy, heavy-duty tent you can truly rely on.
It’s a great choice if you care about quality craftsmanship.
We found the cotton duck canvas to be tough yet breathable.
Furthermore, the galvanized steel rods are sturdy and able to withstand high winds.
These are just some of the reasons we found it to be the most weather resistant 6-person tent…
How can you beat that?
But… like any product, it has a few issues.
Mostly regarding its ease of use, and set up process.
However… If you’re car camping or attending a music festival, it might be just the ticket!

Analysis Comparisons and Test Results
We tested this tent alongside nine others in various outdoor environments.
Simply put… its ability to resist harsh weather blew us away.
Pun intended.
We tested for much more than just weather resistance, however, and found when we looked at packed size, and versatility, it’s not ideal for those wanting something lightweight or easy to set-up.
But, enough waiting around, it’s time to look at the details and show you exactly what we liked and didn’t like about it.
Value for Money
If you prioritize a tent’s Value for Money, then the Flex-Bow might not be the one for you.
Instead, we found the Eureka Copper Canyon 6 to provide the best ratio between outdoor value and total cost.
Value for Money Rating
However, this in no way means the Kodiak-Canvas Flex-Bow is a poor relation- these were the very best tents we were testing it against afterall.
In truth, the Flex-Bow is jam-packed with value thanks to its reliability and weather resistance.
If you’re willing to spend a little more money, this tent will reward you with its TopNotch quality for countless seasons.
Ease of Use & Set-Up
This canvas tent is large, roomy, and an absolute dream to spend time in.
Unfortunately, its rugged luxury comes with a slightly more complicated set-up process (though it’s still marketed as ‘easy’ of course!
Ease of Use & Set-Up Rating
It’s crucial that it’s solidly staked into the ground before you raise it, to create sufficient tension we learned this the hard way. Also, the canvas material is heavy, meaning it can take some significant pulling to hoist it up onto its two large weight-bearing poles.
If a streamlined set-up process is something you need out of your 6-person tent, we can recommend the Core 6-Person Instant Cabin Tent instead.
Although we found the process of setting up a little challenging, it had quite a few handy features as well.
First off, there’s a surprisingly small number of Flex-Bow Rods necessary to create its incredibly rugged, strong structure. This makes packing up the tent much easier once your trip is over.
Also, since its material is completely waterproof there’s no need to install an extra rainfly, which cuts down on set-up time.
Durability & Workmanship
The durability and Workmanship of the Kodiak Canvas Flex-Bow is one of its most impressive features.
The canvas material is as rugged and hardy as we could have expected it to be.
Furthermore, it’d be hard to find a spring steel tube that’s better made than the ones provided by Kodiak to support this structure.
Durability & Workmanship Rating
If, like us, you love outdoor products that last year in and year out, then this could be the one for you.
It held up better than almost any of our other 6-person tents, earning an impressive 8/10 for durability and workmanship.
Comfort
Although the Kodiak Canvas Flex-Bow is not in our top 5 for comfort, it’s certainly not uncomfortable.
The ceilings are well lofted, and allow for most people to stand within the tent without needing to crouch down. This, coupled with its large front doors creates a roomy and spacious feel.
Comfort Rating
If, however, you’re looking for a little extra in this metric, and want the absolute most comfortable stay on your outdoor adventures, then we’d highly recommend the Core 6-Person Instant Cabin. Although this tent outshone the Flex-Bow in terms of comfort, the Flex-Bow’s unique storage capacities were a super useful feature.
Its storage is TopNotch, coming with a gear loft to store your kit overhead, and a detachable storage bag that hangs on the walls. This provides plenty of space to organize your gear – allowing you the time to better enjoy your vacay in the Great Outdoors.
Weather Resistance
Where did the Flex-Bow outshine the competition?
Hands down.
Weather Resistance…
We guarantee this structure will be a reliable safe haven for you if the weather ever takes a turn for the worse.
Weather Resistance Rating
The best part is this tent’s weather resistance doesn’t lower its breathability.
The canvas material is incredibly breathable and regulates temperature well.
It also has pre-installed airflow vents in the top corners which regulate temperature and humidity.
Its heavy-duty canvas fabric will shield you from whatever nature throws your way, whether it’s rain, snow, hail, or sleet!
Our Final Verdict:
Kodiak Canvas Flex-Bow (6-Person) Tent
This tent’s materials are durable, and it’s incredibly weather resistant.
Although it’s on the pricier side, the peace of mind it’ll give you if the weather is on the turn is more than worth it.
If you find the Kodiak’s ease of set-up or weight to be an issue, then we’d have no hesitation in recommending our best overall 6-person tent, which was the Core 6-Person Instant Cabin.
But… if its ‘heavy-duty feel’ sparks your interest, we guarantee it won’t let you down!
