Battery Life
In low mode, the Streamlight Flashlight has a battery life of 20 hours. That’s seriously impressive.
Unfortunately, we don’t always want to use our flashlights in low mode.

While it’s perfect for reading a book in your tent late at night, it’s not exactly the best for trying to see exactly where your dog went on a winter walk in the pitch black (or is that just us?!).
So, you’ll only get 1.5 hours of battery life on high mode, and 3 hours on medium mode.
Still pretty good, but take a look at our Top Choices if you need more.
Brightness
With a maximum brightness of 850 lumens on high mode, this flashlight certainly isn’t dull.

Beam Quality
With a maximum beam distance of 219 meters, the beam quality does sound pretty impressive on paper.
But wait…Compared to the top-rated flashlight in this category, the Anker LC90, it falls a little short.
The Anker has a maximum distance of 304 meters.

Ease Of Use
Our Protac was definitely super simple to use, thanks to its tail-cap power button which you can instantly find in the pitch-black.
Just be aware that the power button is so easy to find, that it can sometimes be flicked on accidentally.

This did happen from time to time whilst we were carrying this flashlight around in our pockets.
With that said, it’s also incredibly simple to recharge.
No need to remove batteries and fiddle around with plugging them in.
Simply plug this into any compatible USB charger, and you’re done.
Durability
This is where the Streamlight Tac lights come into their own.
The combination of high-quality, aircraft-grade materials and optimized electronics mean this will be coming with you on camping trips for many years to come.

Features
With slightly fewer features than some of the other flashlights we reviewed, this is still a great option with three choices of brightnesses to choose from.
Sometimes, that’s all you really need.

Conclusion: Streamlight Protac Flashlight
Last of all…
...it should be pretty clear by now that this is a great little flashlight for a lot of reasons - one of our top 10 on the market for 2026.
It definitely packs a lot of quality into a tiny package.
So to wrap things up…
If you’re looking for a compact flashlight that’s incredibly durable, and with pretty good battery life, you can’t go wrong with the Streamlight Protac.
Armed with all the necessary facts and figures, we’ll pass over the baton to you now, to make your choice.
