Nemo Wagontop 6 Person Tent

If getting the most bang for your buck is crucial for you when purchasing a tent, then we think the Eureka Copper Canyon 6 may be worth a look-see.

It comes with three small storage compartments located underneath the front door within the cabin walls.

Furthermore, there are attachment hooks to place larger gear on the ceiling. Just make sure it's all secured well so nothing drops on your head in the middle of the night!

These hooks are also awesome for hanging lanterns and extra flashlights to extend your reading hours, or to make time for one more game of cards with the family.

Overall this Nemo product was not our top choice in terms of value for money.

But, if spending a little extra money is okay for you and your budget…

...it certainly won’t let you down.

Ease of Use & Set-Up

Initially, the set-up process for this tent can be a little intimidating…

With Y shaped poles, curved poles, and straight poles all meeting at various intersections, we recommend you set it up a few times at home before bringing it to the campsite.

Luckily… we found after a few times setting it up the process became second nature.

Personally… We think this tent is a prime example of the benefits that come from buying a freestanding tent.

Simply put, a freestanding tent is one that can be fully set up without being staked down into the ground.

Just think of how demoralizing it would be to hike to a campsite and have to leave because the ground was too wet or the dirt too rocky to adequately stake your structure before setting it up.

This Wagontop tent completelyrids you of the stress of worrying about that.

Its flexible poles are designed in such a way that they balance each other out.

You can have a fully functioning tent before it is even staked into the soil beneath it.

On top of this… its a single wall tent (meaning it doesn’t need a separate rain fly), which makes campsite set-up so much quicker for everyone involved.

Durability & Workmanship

We were impressed by the craftsmanship and care that went into building the Wagontop. In the end, it was able to land a 7/10 for durability and workmanship.

One of the most well-crafted aspects of this tent is actually its gear bag. We loved the way our tent packed into this bag and found the sturdy handle supported its already lightweight load of around 27 pounds super well.

If the thought of lugging an awkward, heavy tent to the campsite makes you want to avoid the outdoors all together…

Then

The Wagontop would be a great option for you with its small packed size, still coupled with a large square footage.

Amazingly... we did find a few other tents provided even more durability and superior workmanship. One of these high scorers was the  North Face Wawona 6, check it out if you wish.

One thing we did miss was a footprint (a piece of fabric laid under the floor to protect your tent). Nemo doesn’t provide one with this model which can mean a fair amount of wear and tear on the floor if you don’t buy one yourself.

The floor is made from a thick polyester material that’s completely waterproof and we thought it looked durable enough to stand the test of time.

We’re confident that durability shouldn’t be an issue with this Wagontop 6,, and you can trust that it’ll hold up for plenty of future camping seasons.

Comfort

Although it may be somewhat difficult to put up the intricately balanced poles provided by Nemo, the structure does create optimal comfort.

Even the very edges of the inside cabin provide the aesthetic of lofted ceilings because of the uniquely designed bent poles used in the top corners. This allows most people to stand throughout the entire tent without crouching down…

So if you’re over 6 feet tall this could be a big deal for you!

What we really loved about the Wagontop though was the breathability. Once the mesh windows and doors are revealed, and the front vestibule is zipped open, an impressive amount of airflow comes into the tent itself.

This feature makes it perfect for a warm breezy beach environment, or any camping situation which allows for the mesh features to be revealed.

After feeling the comfort of staying in the tent this way, you may never want to zip up the mesh again!

Weather Resistance

As long as this tent is well installed, staked, and the guy lines are secured - it’ll keep you safe from whatever nature throws at you.

It proved itself to be TopNotch under the stresses of inclement weather.

To ensure adequate waterproofness, it’s imperative to close all of the mesh windows and doors.

To do so, you simply need to reattach the waterproof flap of tent fabric to the top of the tent. This will cut back on its breathability, but as we know…

When it rains - sometimes it pours.

Even with its taller height (80 inches measured from the floor), this tent could withstand high winds.

Again… as long as it is properly installed and the guy lines are taut.

Our Final Verdict:
Nemo Wagontop 6 Person Tent

This 6 person structure by Nemo may not have been our first choice.

But... if you’re looking for a unique tent that can keep you safe in bad weather and dreamily comfortable when it’s nice...

This could be just the ticket...

Conclusion:
Nemo Wagontop 6 Person Tent

Wagontop 6, By now… you’ll know the ups and downs which accompany the Nemo Wagontop 6.

If you’re willing to spend a little more money, this tent will reward you with a beautiful design that creates unmatched campsite comfort.

Its roll-up windows and doors can make any breezy afternoon better, perfectly letting that air seep into the cabin walls. We think its best use would be on a beach or comfortable environment where these windows can be left open.

Furthermore, its large front vestibule can shield any gear you don’t want to bring in the tent while doubling as a beautiful sitting area.

However… its set-up process can be a little confusing on your first attempt. Also, with a higher price, the questions arise about its value for money.

So, if this one of a kind 6 man shelter calls your name, we recommend you give it a try!

If not you can't go wrong with our recommendations below...
